Title
Coverlet #24-Monk's Belt
Description
Monk's Belt variation. (overshot weave structure) This pattern is one of the patch family. It is a simple geometric design which is easily threaded and woven. The wool weft is naturally dyed in red (madder root and cochineal) and black (black walnut and indigo) as shown in black and white, these patterns are often dull in comparison to others, but a color was after added which gave life to plain blocks of thread.
