Title

Windsor Chair-Bow Back, c. 1800

Description

This bow-back Windsor chair is circa 1800. it is difficult to place in regard to origin. It has a feeling of Philadelphia, but may be Tennessee. The seat is white pine, and the legs and other turned parts, as well as the "bow", are hickory. There is a shaped saddle seat. At the top of the rail is a curious piece of metal with a square hole in it which goes through the chair.
