“Rose and Bud” variation circa 1850 to 1860. Four blocks 29 inch squares each have a large rose with points 14 inches across, appliquéd with five concentric rows of red, light green, red and pink with white center. Four pink, red and white centered 4 inch roses, four pink buds with bright yellow-green leaves and four buds [pomegranates] surround the large flower etc. a wide border on three sides Carol Whitehouse.

11/2019 Wear on large flower, staining all over, foxing throughout, large wide bed and long bed, thirds
1/2023 condition poor back stained along edges, several dark stains in center. minor fraying, no obvious tears or holes except for a single hole along the edges stitching. front: heavy discoloration with several frays present. damage to the pattern with loss of color on top cloth.
